Lest We Forget

Written by Danielle Metcalfe-Chenail on 07 November 2011.

Lest we ForgetTake a moment to learn about some of the ways Canadians are preserving and celebrating the experiences of veterans this Remembrance Day.

In the photo above, Allan Cameron (left) is shown with Second World War veteran Peter Brodie during a taping for Cameron's video project. On this particular occasion in 2010, he travelled to his home province of Nova Scotia to capture important interviews. Based out of Sylvan Lake, Alberta - about halfway between Calgary and Edmonton - Cameron regularly travels across the province and country to ensure these stories are not lost.

To get an idea of the type of work Cameron is engaged in, please view this clip. He will be relaunching his project's website, Veterans Voices of Canada, to coincide with Remembrance Day.

He also has a Remembrance Day DVD he produced called "We Must Never Forget," that individuals, organizations, and schools can order (it is a minimum $25 donation for individuals, but DVDs are free to educational institutions). To obtain more information or your copies, please contact Allan Cameron at acvetvoice@gmail.com or (403) 887-7114 (MT).
